Yli 56 000 suomalaisen allekirjoittama Lex Malmi -kansalaisaloite luovutettiin tänään eduskunnan puhemies Marja Lohelalle. Lakialoitteessa esitetään, että valtio lunastaa Malmin lentoaseman itselleen. Lunastuksella valtio turvaa pääkaupunkiseudun ja maakuntien väliset ilmayhteydet ja tukee kaupallisen lentoliikenteen kehittymistä. Lisäksi Malmin lentoasema palvelisi tulevaisuuden ilmailun kehittymiskeskuksena.

Initiative to save Helsinki-Malmi Airport submitted to Finnish Parliament
A legislative initiative to preserve Helsinki-Malmi Airport, listed among the 7 Most Endangered heritage sites in Europe in 2016 by Europa Nostra and the European Investment Bank Institute, was presented today to the Speaker of Parliament Marja Lohela. The Lex Malmi initiative, signed by more than 56.000 people, proposes an expropriation of Malmi Airport from the City of Helsinki by the State of Finland. With this expropriation the State would secure the air connections between the capital region and the provinces. In addition, the airport would serve as a center of development for future aviation services.
